Beginnings

Hi folks!

Welcome to my blog.

This will be a place for permanently posting my thoughts, political commentary, reflections, poems, rants, spiritual wanderings, and all that good stuff.

I decided to create my own blog because it occurred to me that I have something to say, that I've had and continue to have a life worth sharing, and also because my wife encouraged me to do so.

I don't know quite what to expect from this effort, but I figure I'd better lay down a few ground rules if it's going to be a success:

Rule #1: If a blog is going to be of any use at all to anybody at all, then it needs to be updated regularly. I commit to doing so, though I won't commit to a specific number of postings per day/week/hour, etc. Check back every other day or so-- I expect you'll find something new.

Rule #2: This blog will cover a wide range of topics written in a wide range of voices. That's because I hope to include your thoughts and comments as often as possible in these entries (so please email them to me, or post them here directly), and also because I have a very limited sense of my own self, and I certainly haven't found my own voice as a writer, nor do I expect I ever will, so don't be surprised if I contradict myself regularly or seem to be all over the map in my tone and temper. I am what I am and that's all that I am, said the great one-eyed sage.

Rule #3: I won't be editing your comments, so please keep it clean, folks. My grandma might be reading this.
