They Hate Our Freedoms
That's according to our President.
Or not, says his own Defense Department in a report issued by the Pentagon late Wednesday afternoon before the Thanksgiving Holiday, when it was sure to be missed by the public at large.
Like I said, we need to refocus on the whole good cop thing, peoples. You don't win this war LAPD-style.

Totally fascinating. I think you're right-- it's important to recognize the fact that the bad guys do, in fact, hate our freedoms. They of course should only get bad-cop treatment-- put more bullets in them, I say. But this Pentagon report analyzing the state of our over-arching strategy shows that we are doing poorly at winning the minds of the people of the ME, which as I explained in 'The Game" is critical for a win in the game of nations we are playing in Afghanistan and Iraq. "Good-cop" is a strategy that neccessarily refers to how we deal with the broader Muslim community in the ME, not the bad guys themselves. The key to winning the WoT is to recognize that, given the fact that both sides (we and the bad guys) are in a war to control the perceptions of the people of the ME in general, we'd do well to tone down our cowboy rhetoric, especially if we are the US President, and especially if it's obvious that the Muslim community at home and abroad are confusing the target of his bad cop rhetoric with the Muslim world at large. We'd do well not to refer to the WoT as a crusade, for example. We'd do well to make sure that fears of US imperialism is countered agressively. And we need to come up with clear and calculated strategies for promoting modernism, freedom, a warm regard for the US, as well as strategies for defeating the message of the Wahaabist clerics and Al Qaeda video tapes and communications. It's like Rummy asked: "Are we killing them faster than we're creating them?" The answer will decide the victor in this campaign.
